Spring sponsors the Suffolk Tourism Awards

September 8th, 2010 — 9:48am

We are delighted to be a sponsor for the Suffolk Tourism Awards this year, in conjunction with the East Anglian Daily Times and Choose Suffolk.

Our category – for which I was also on the judging panel – was Festivals & Events, a topic which is close to Spring’s collective heart following our work on the Festivals Suffolk brand launch earlier this year.

Suffolk is an amazingly creative place, and the sheer quantity of events across the county would keep anyone with the time available entertained all year round. From small gatherings in village halls to mammoth events like Latitude and the Bury Christmas Market, practically every interest is catered for. Food & Drink, every kind of music, poetry, dance, history – and so it goes on.

On Thursday evening the winners will be announced at a black tie bash in Trinity Park, the regular venue for most of the county’s awards bashes (and lovely it is, too). Georgina, Aprille and I will be there representing Spring and look forward to seeing a lot of old friends on the night.

Today was made up of looking through the results we got back from the Bury-ers yesterday and putting them up on the My Suffolk site. We had over a hundred responses, and entering these was a challenge, but also pretty interesting finding out what in Suffolk people love.

Intern’s Blog: Day Seven | Why do you love Suffolk?

August 25th, 2010 — 4:10pm

After the excitement of yesterday, Bury St. Edmunds would have a hard job in comparison. But it was good fun – asking local people on behalf of My Suffolk what they love about our county made for some interesting responses.

Allowed out today. I had free rein of Southwold to deliver the new Spring promotional flyer to local businesses in the town. After having last week off, I came back to Spring today to find the printed version of a creation I’d been helping with … and it looks good!
